A COMPANY BASED ON FAMILY VALUES

At the age of seven, Clarence Russell "Russ" Durrant moved to Kuna, Idaho with his family in 1947. There, his father established Big D Ranch. Russ worked alongside his brothers at the ranch for many years, but shortly after he married he decided to branch out from the family farm. In 1964, Russ started his own business, Big D Builders, that focused on agricultural and commercial steel construction.

Big D's start was not one you would call impressive. In fact, Big D's first "official" job was to build an outhouse. However, with the help of family members, friends, local businesses, and a lot of hard work, the business grew into one that Russ could only imagine. After 27 years of ownership, Russ passed the company on to his son, Dennis.
